Back in 2002, MTV had a chance to catch up with Kanye West for a You Hear It First segment. In the clip which lasts a little over an hour, the young Kanye speaks on creating beats, his trademark “soul sample” production style at that moment and how he got signed to Roc-A-Fella. Back in the days Yeezy was much friendlier to interviewers and didn’t feel the need to make it clear to the world that he’s a genius as much as he does now, although he does compare himself to Michelangelo around the 1O minute mark.
