Belgian photographer Annelie Vandendael is concerned with loss of identity in the standard fashion photography, a genre where women are often heavily manipulated and edited until there is no trace of reality. For the young artist, it is imperfection and obscurity that makes an image interesting. She used those two ingredients for her latest series Sois Belle which means as much as ‘Be Pretty’. Sois Belle is currently on display at the brand new Barbé Gallery in Ghent. Check out some pictures here and head to Barbé Gallery to see the series in full effect.
