Yesterday the internet went crazy over the early release of Kendrick Lamar‘s sophomore album To Pimp A Butterfly. This latest offering by the TDE rapper is nothing like his first album Good Kid, m.A.A.D City which has lead to a lot of people dismissing it. On the other hand, the jazz lovers amongst the K.Dot fans couldn’t be happier (including me). This album is about more than music, it’s a powerful statement at a time when racial tension is very high in America. I’m pretty sure this album could be a modern classic. During my first listen I noticed that this album contains a high amount of samples from artist like Michael Jackson, The Isley Brothers and Fela Kuti. I put together a little playlist with the songs that inspired one of 2015’s most anticipated releases. Check it out below.
