It was a big year for Lefto. The Belgian DJ/sound curator took first place on Red Bull Elektropedia’s first Belgian DJ top 100, brought the famous party concept Boiler Room to Belgium and organized the HIPHOP40 festival at Ancienne Belgique in Brussels. That being said, Brussels-based artist Sandrine Astier took to the canvas to pay homage to the Belgian earlybird. The painting is called LEFTO: EarlyBird Spreads His Wings and is based on a picture by party photographer Dimitri Bekaert.
