Earlier this week Hip Hop/Neo-Soul duo OSHUN released their debut mixtape, Asase Yaa (meaning Mother Earth) in celebration of Earth Day (The name OSHUN pays homage to a Yoruba deity that represent elements of femininity and womanhood). The project consists of twelve track and is all about empowering women & all people, instilling confidence, cultural pride, and self-respect by spreading spiritual & soulful sounds. The opening track PREEECH which starts off with the New York-based duo singing the deep-rooted spiritual Wade In The Water is my personal favorite. Check out Asase Yaa below and find out more about OSHUN over at Complex.
