About a year ago Israel-based graphic designer Amit Shimoni noticed that youth all around the world are constantly looking at fashion and style as their way of self expression while steering away from the big ideologies. His Hipstory series wishes to reimagine the great leaders of modern history and place them in a different time and culture – ours. This is what happens when modern-day hipster culture meets history:
Barack Obama is tattooed with the words ‘hope’ and ‘change’ on his chest and sports a man-bun, Hillary Clinton gets an ombre and wears a chunky gold chain over a colorful t-shirt and the Dalai Lama dons a burgundy hoodie and necklace, bearing a tibetan symbol in green and gold.
