Yesterday Solange Knowles took to Twitter to announce that her new album called A Seat At The Table will be out this Friday, September 30. Last night 86 lucky fans received a mailed copy of a book — also titled A Seat at the Table — containing poetry, photos, lyrics, and the date 9/30/16 stamped into one of the middle pages. The singer has recruited some amazing artists for the album as it will feature Dev Hynes, Kelela, Sampha, Lil Wayne, Q-Tip, Kelly Rowland & BJ The Chicago Kid.
Solange stated that the album is a project on identity, empowerment, independence, grief, and healing. I also have a suspicion that the title of the album and the concept behind the project might be inspired by Langston Hughes legendary poem I, Too. Check out the tracklist below and a digital version of the beautiful poetry/photo book here.
