Virgil Abloh’s label Off-White and Belgium⁻based shop SMETS have been frequent collaborators for a while now but their latest effort might be the dopest of them all. The collection — deeply rooted in Belgian art history, and more specifically artist René Magritte — pulls inspiration from the surrealist movement, with the main graphic elements being reminiscent of Magritte’s work.
Including a t-shirt, hoodie, socks and signature industrial belt, each piece in the capsule features detailing taken directly from Magritte’s work such as an outline of a dove with a blue sky and clouds. In true Off-White™ fashion, the capsule is dressed in Virgil’s trademark quotation marks and the word “Surrealist” can be found through the collection.
Slated to hit the shelves on December 14th, the Off-White x SMETS “Surrealist” capsule collection will be available exclusively at the SMETS stores in Brussels & Luxembourg. In the meantime, take a look at the pieces from the collection below.
